Ecologies of home and City of Margins studio of PGT. The urban design course of SSoA hosted 'Social Afternoon', a community get together, at SADACCA community centre in Wicker, Sheffield on 7 December 2021. The event was intended to engage with the community to get an understanding of their everyday life, their relationship with the neighbourhood and aspirations for its future.

Model-based participatory activities and object-based community interactions were the participatory tools adopted by different groups during the event. The event culminated with a music performance organised by Up and Comin', a team of singers and rappers from across the city.

The two neighbourhoods, Wicker and Burngreave, which are host to a number of international communities, nurture a plethora of cultural practices within their public realm. The event was therefore organised in a way that celebrated these cultures. Food and music for the event were locally sourced, while the attendees added an informal and social vibe to the event.
